Allied wood embroidery hoops are engineered to provide superior grip when hooping wide range of fabrics. One natural characteristics of wood is its grained texture which enables more effective hooping of most articles & fabrics. This characteristic is also great for framing slippery fabrics such as satins and silks, as well as for thicker jackets that may be difficult to hoop tautly using regular plastic hoops.
Allied wooden embroidery frames are available in "single height" (SH) and "double height" (DH). This is designated by SH or DH in the Allied Item Numbers below (e.g. AWH-XXX-SH-XXX). The added thickness of double height wooden hoops provides additional surface area to hold fabric tautly. This is extremely advantageous when framing very thick articles.
Allied’s wide range of wooden embroidery hoops includes specialty shapes and sizes such as hoops for long and narrow embroidery designs on sleeves of long-sleeved shirts, pant legs, etc. Beyond Allied's currently available hoop sizes, if you need custom-sized wooden hoops in larger quantities, please contact us providing details of your specific requirements.

Choosing the right Allied hoops for your Brother PR Series Home embroidery machine:
In many cases, Allied offers separate hoops designed to fit on different Arm Spacing (AS) distances. The AS distance is designated by the last three digits of the Allied Item Number found in the first column of the grid below (e.g. AWH-XXX-504).
For more information on this, click here: What Do We Mean by Arm Spacing (AS) Distance? ("Arm Spacing" is also referred to as "Sewing Field" by some embroiderers). Please select your hoops based on the desired AS distance for your machine.
Allied hoops for Baby-Lock and Brother Home embroidery machines are made to fit the 504 mm (approx 19.75") Extra Large Arm Spacing. This enables the maximum embroidery area on the machine of 200 mm (7.9") in the Y-direction and 300 mm (11.8") in the X-direction and therefore the user can utilize Allied hoops to their maximum capability. Because the embroidery area is sometimes larger than a particular hoop can allow, always do a trace before starting the embroidery job to ensure that the needles and presser foot do not come in contact with the hoop. Always keep a minimum of 1/2" gap between the design and the inside wall of the inner hoop.
